Travelling to Tibet is quite different from travelling in other parts of the Himalayan region, as it’s necessary to go on a guided tour. You’ll have a guide and driver, so won’t need to heave your own heavy backpack around to get on and off buses or into taxis, as you might in Nepal. Therefore, packing for Tibet is a little different. Here are some things you’ll need to pack for Tibet: • A small wheeled suitcase (not a backpack) • Many layers: cotton t-shirt, thin polyester-blend sweater, thicker woolen sweater, down coat, gloves, scarf, hat • Moisturiser and lip balm • Sunscreen • Sunglasses • Walking shoes and casual shoes • Warm pyjamas • Travel pillow for the car ITINERARY Day 01: Arrival in Lhasa | Day 02: Visit Drepung, Norbulinka and Sera Day 03: Visit Potala and Jokhang – Barkhor | Day 04: Lhasa | Day 05: Yamdrok Tso – Gyantse Day 06: Pelkor – SakyaGompa-Shegar | Day 07: Rombuk | Day 08 Shigatse | Day 09: Tashilumpo Day 10: Departure NOTE: From 2018, if the land border between Nepal and China opens, trip will end in Kathmandu by overland journey.
