Since many Nepali people prefer using their hands to eat , they ’ d use their right hands . Even while receiving something , you ’ re expected to use your right hand . In some cases , using both hands to receive something is also considered as a sign of respect .

• Whistling inside someone ’ s household is considered disrespectful as Nepali people believe that it will invite bad souls , devils , and ghosts into their house .

Touching the feet is seen as a gesture of respect because they are the lowest and dirtiest part of the body . Do not descend the stairs until they have passed you if someone is carrying these items as you can be viewed as stepping over the item if you do .
