Top trainees to battle in Ballarat

Tournament Professional Michael

allarat can expect an allencompassing assault on the golfing
senses when it hosts what the PGA of
Australia is touting as the unofficial trainee
world championship in October.
Long replaces fellow Tournament
Professional Craig Parry, who stepped
down after serving on the PGA Board
for the past four years.
More than 100 of the nation’s and the
world’s best trainee professionals will tee
it up in the $55,000 PGA National Futures
Championship at the Peter Thomsondesigned Ballarat Golf Club from October 2124.
Hailing from New Zealand, Long
has been a much-respected Member
of the PGA Tour of Australasia since
1990.
Throughout his career Long
has competed all over the world,
highlights including wins at the 1996
New Zealand Open and the 1999
Greg Norman Holden International.
Long’s victories also include the 2001
Boise Open and 2003 VB Open on the
now Web.com Tour.
