THE PROCESS
FROM BOOKING TO BOOKS
The months prior to & directly following your wedding planning are
busy times. At Alders Photography, I honor your harried schedule
by working hard to avoid any unnecessary surprises. Here’s a
peek into my process:
Booking your wedding: After your inquiry, I check my availability,
we meet over coffee, chat about your wedding & go over any
questions you may have. You pick out the goodies you want in
your contract, I will email it to you, you sign it online & pay your
50% retainer fee. Then you are officially booked.
Six to eight months before your wedding: We’ll set up a time to
shoot your engagement session. If you’re getting a guest book, or
using the photos for save-the-dates or invitations, you’ll want to do
it sooner rather than later. We’ll pick a location, talk about outfits
(see pages 4-7) & shoot the session. Two to four weeks after the
session the photos will be blogged & uploaded onto your PASS
gallery.
Three months before your wedding: We send you a pre
wedding questionnaire to fill out all the details such as timeline,
family formals, special things you’d like captured, vendors, etc.
One month before your wedding: Your final balance is due
& a reminder email will be sent regarding your pre-wedding
questionnaire & timeline (see page 14).
One week before your wedding: I give you a quick check-in call
to confirm all the details from your pre-wedding questionnaire.
We’ll chat a little bit about your day & discuss any last minute
specifications.
The day of your wedding: I arrive at the scheduled time & quickly
scout the venue. Then we have fun & shoot, shoot, shoot!
A few days after your wedding: I want to give you images as
soon as possible! So I post a little sneak peek on the blog for you
to enjoy on your honeymoon.
A week after your wedding: I collect all of your wedding images
which will then be edited, retouched, archived & prepared for your
PASS gallery, hard drive, & book.
Six weeks after your wedding: I mail your hard drive of images
& release your PASS gallery to you. I also post a longer blog with
many photos telling the story of your day.
Four months after your wedding: I mail your Standard Book
or the design process for your Deluxe Book begins & rounds of
changes follow.
Six to ten months after your wedding: Your rounds of changes
have been made on your Deluxe Book & you have chosen your
cover material & color. After it has come back from the binder, it
will be mailed to you & the process is complete!
