When they are clamped in the jig, the two pieces of timber are automatically offset by an integral stop. The timber must be clamped flush to the underside of the finger template. When cutting the dovetails, ensure that the cutters passes through the full thickness of both pieces of timber. The Trend Joinaboard jointing jig Warning The diameter of the dovetail cutter supplied with the jig is larger than the inside diameter of the guide bush. Therefore take great care not to accidentally release the router’s plunge lock, allowing the cutter to hit the guide bush as this will damage the cutting edges. For safety it is advisable to fit a fine height adjuster to the router to avoid this problem. When end jointing long lengths of timber, the jig can be used vertically.
