yüzeyin suya batırılması, suyun içinde baskılamaya neden olur. Su altındaki yüzey, su ile süperhidrofobik
yüzey arasında sıkışan mikroskobik bir hava katmanı nedeniyle gümüşi bir parlaklık şeklinde görülür.
