Meet Xotelia, it is a Lyon- based company that originated in France offering a wide range of solutions exclusively designed for small hospitality businesses like guesthouses, bed & breakfasts, hostels, seasonal and short-term rentals.

He worked at several part time jobs in the hospitality industry as a steward or barman, he decided to move forward and studied at Glion Institute of Higher Education, a Hospitality Management School in Switzerland. He graduated end of 2010 with a Bachelor degree with honors in Finance, Revenue Management and Real Estate. Following to his graduation, he started working as a Revenue Specialist at Expedia and rapidly changed to become a Sales Manager in Doha, Qatar for Moevenpick Hotels.

Beginning 2012, he started his own company. It took him 6 months of hard work to develop software that provided online distribution for B&Bs, apartments and villas. Xotelia was born. Jeffrey Messud, says he wanted to offer an alternative solution for family-run and small businesses. Indeed, most of the existing online booking systems (channel managers) were designed for resorts or larger hotels. For Jeffrey, every property is different and does not face the same challenges. Large hotel groups have IT tools allowing online sales on online travel agencies. Small properties with a small inventory of 5 rooms cannot afford complex IT system.

In 2012, Xotelia got its first customer, Chalet Les FrĂȘnes, a small bed and breakfast in Chamonix, France. Today, the company manages overs 3000 properties around the world (41 countries in total).

So far, focusing on consumer service and IT tools has paid off Xotelia is one of the fastest growing online system managements system and starts at only $10/month.
