I dream of Tuscany, I dream of Napa but when you only have a three-night long weekend you’re limited but never without options! I booked a three-night stay at a bed and breakfast in one of Canada’s beloved towns, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, located 90 minutes from where I live. It is famous for 100+ wineries, and a plethora of wonderful restaurants to tantalize anyone’s taste buds. I am up for the challenge of having a wonderful wine inspired weekend, and I’m as prepared as a Girl Scout! I even got a bike hitch put on my car so we can take the bicycles we never ride for a spin to some nearby wineries. I dug out those bike shorts I bought years ago with the extra padding so my toosh doesn’t suffer (it will but I am just telling myself it won’t).

I love the app Open Table and made four impressive reservations to some very sought after eateries. Two dinners are at wineries and one offers farm-to-table, the other is pretty razzle-dazzle so I love the contrast. Brunch with friends is on for Sunday at a very fancy farm to table restaurant so we have quite a decadent weekend planned.

A Tasting Vacation

I even bought a second-hand picnic basket to fill up with cheese and goodies (there is a to die for cheese shop in town) to take along to the park overlooking the Niagara River

Bed and breakfast, bicycles, wine, dinner, parks, and four days of fun!

The diet will definitely have to wait!
