Inns E-Magazine / Summer 2014

George and Linda Fulton have entrepreneurial yearnings especially George who spent his career in corporate consulting. One of his clients was in the high tech forestry business and he worked as an executive VP. When sadly that business became a victim of the recession of 2009, it prompted George to rethink. He and Linda always wanted to own and operate a B&B. Linda had attended an Oates and Bredfeldt weekend session on How to Evaluate a B&B many years before and finally the time had come to re-connect. They searched for almost 16 months for the inn of their dreams. "We identified what kind of inn we wanted through the Inn Consulting Partners and we agreed on Vermont – Vermont is as pretty a state as they have ever been to." They settled in Stowe, as it is a classic quintessential village. This place seemed like a wonderful opportunity. "We bought the Stone Hill Inn in 2011 on Halloween day and our journey began immediately!”

The Stone Hill Inn is situated on nine acres, which makes it private and intimate. “This was built 16 years ago and all nine rooms have king beds and offer a double Jacuzzi tub next to a fireplace in each of the baths. That and more has awarded them as the 8th highest- rated inn by TripAdvisor in the Travelers Choice awards 2014.

The breakfast is made to order and offers a choice of sweet or savory entrée every morning. In addition, guests can help themselves from the center table to yogurt, fresh fruits, homemade granola and homemade breads. You might enjoy crème Brule French toast with Vermont Maple syrup or homemade corned-beef hash with sunny-side eggs on top.

"The classic advantage of staying at a B&B is the intimacy that is offered by a small inn you can’t get that in a large resort or hotel. We work hard at getting to know our guests, that is what sets us apart."

“We are not experts in the B&B industry, but we love creating the atmosphere of hospitality from décor to dining, to comfort and service. We want our guests to celebrate their time together when here at Stone Hill Inn. Come and see us!”
