towards the ball, curious to see what all of the billboards and flashing signs were offering.
Soon we realized we were standing in front of the Good Morning America building. The familiar set was very visible through the glass. They had just finished broadcasting live, so we missed it that day. Oh, well! We had lots more to see!
That first day was spent exploring, eating from street vendors, shopping and wandering around Times Square. We didn’ t venture far from our hotel because our legs might have fallen off if we pushed any farther. We called it a night early that day for the sake of our aching legs.
Whenever I’ m on vacations, I have a tendency to wake up extremely early, due to excitement, so needless to say not a minute was wasted there in the Big City. We got used to the fast-paced days pretty quickly. The subway was a first for us both, so we had to adjust right away if we were going to go anywhere else besides Times Square. This was how we planned to get around to the other parts of the city, so we could get the entire“ City Life” feel.
We spent the rest of the weekend going in every direction possible to see as much as we could in our short time of being there. We went to some of the most popular tourism spots and even visited some not-so-popular sites. From museums to pet stores, bakeries to Starbucks, street vendors to the carriage rides around Central Park, we felt as if we’ d almost seen it all.
Yet all of those things are such a small part of what makes New York so magical. Although there are many parts of NYC that I haven’ t even gotten the pleasure to explore yet, I can tell you this: Going to a city like New York is something like a movie, and not as frightening as most people chalk it up to be. I wouldn’ t say it’ s all rainbows and butterflies, but it has its own beauty, rough around the edges – in all the right places.

NEW YORK CITY MUST-SEES:

1.

Central
Park is something else! Honestly, I could write an entire story on Central Park itself. It’ s amazing how it sits in the middle of Manhattan, so different from its surroundings. When you’ re in that park, it is so quiet and tranquil in some places that you almost forget you’ re in the City That Never Sleeps. All of this nature in the center of so many people is just unbelievable. It is a must-see and I will definitely be visiting Central Park again.

2.

Times
Square is a brilliant place for tourists. That is where you can find brochures and other interesting ideas of things to do around Manhattan or the surrounding neighborhoods that make up NYC.

3.

The Statue Of Liberty and Ellis Island are always“ must sees” when you’ re headed to the Big Apple. Whether you simply take a boat tour around the island or you get up close and personal with a walk through the Museum on Ellis Island or by actually going inside the Statue Of Liberty, this experience is one for the books and definitely something to mark off your bucket list.

4.

Korea Town of Manhattan was special for us in the sense that my fiancé Danny was born in South Korea. It is a small strip of Korean restaurants, bakeries and shops of many sorts. If you are into authentic Korean food, snacks or gifts, I’ d say this is a“ must see” as well. Along with Korea Town, there is Little Italy and Chinatown to check out and get that authentic taste of those cultures as well.

5.

The
9 / 11 Memorial is surreal. It is a beautiful memorial for the tragedy that struck the Twin Towers on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001. You can almost feel the emotions and souls flying around you as you stand beside it; the energy is vibrant. It is truly amazing what they’ ve done to commemorate those who lost their lives. This is an incredible place to visit If you are planning a trip to NYC. It is probably the most important“ must see” of them all.
