MANAGEMENT

A successful, thriving physician’ s office provides a myriad of services throughout each day, designed to help their patients cope with whatever physical issue brought them to the facility. As a diagnosis becomes complicated, it becomes more challenging to accurately monitor and submit billable services that will pay within a reasonable time period. With the combination of technical sophistication and physician specialization, the challenge of successfully navigating the insurance labyrinth is medical accounting of the highest order.
Medical Revenue & Practice Management Company( MR-PM) is a company which welcomes the aforementioned challenges, and raises the level of accounting still further through specialization. MR-PM offers comprehensive billing solutions and total practice management services, all designed with personalized customer service.“ We are a full service firm,” stated David Fugate, CEO of MR-PM“ We can offer all non-clinical services.” They have teamed with a state-of-the-art software company that specializes in anesthesia and pain management billing.
“ We are capable of billing for any surgical specialty,” Fugate stated proudly.“ I have managed many surgical specialties such as orthopedics, sports medicine, urology and Gynecology”. Each has its own elements particular to the type of surgery it is. But we do specialize in anesthesiology; it is a unique specialty from a billing aspect. It differs from other specialties in that it is billed in terms of time, as well as specific procedure code. There are not many of us out there.” He continued,“ I’ ve been involved with anesthesiology since 1981.”
MR-PM has an outstanding professional core group. Fugate is the guiding force behind the firm and has been managing anesthesia practices for more than 30 years. His resume reads like a Who’ s Who in anesthesiology, full of accolades and consulting assignments with many of the top hospitals and pain management practices across the country.
Fugate received his graduate degree from Central Michigan University graduating with a master’ s degree in health care administration and was certified in 1991 by Harvard School of Public Health in the Executive Program for Health Systems Management. He was a member of the Medical Group Management Association( MGMA) for over 25 years and served on the Anesthesia Assembly Executive Committee for 4 years including serving as president in 1999. He served as a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists( ASA) Practice Management Committee from 1999 to 2004 and has provided anesthesia and surgical consulting services since 1996.
Fugate is ably supported by Gail McClain as operations manager and Curt Little as controller. McLain has been involved in anesthesia billing since 2002. She is a billing specialist and distinguished herself as an excellent problem solver early on in her career. As a critical member of the leadership team at MR-PM, she participates in all operational aspects for the company. Little is an accounting professional with more than 20 years of experience with a broad range of skills in accounting, human resources and benefits management in the healthcare environment. All are ably supported by a staff of six, which includes three certified professional coders who work entirely from their homes. The entire staff has worked together for many years, which contributes to their overall effectiveness.
The commitment MR-PM makes to each client provides that organization with the professional resources necessary to make thorough practice management decisions. They offer the expertise to handle all non-clinical medical practice issues. A long-standing goal is to build a collaborative business setting that provides the same level of proficiency on the operational side of the medical practice as was found on the clinical side. They begin their relationship with an operational analysis to determine each medical practice’ s needs. They follow by working closely with the client to reduce costs and increase revenues, building a successful business.
Medical Revenue & Practice Management maintains a comprehensive Billing Compliance Plan to satisfy federal and state laws and regulations. They conduct periodic reviews of clients’ plans to assure that all contain the security steps necessary to offer the strongest, most up-to-date protection. The Billing Compliance Program is managed by a full-time staff. MR-PM will review all agreements with business partners in contract with a practice to ensure that all HIPAA requirements are met
