Presentation Suite and Exhibition Space These fully-equipped presentation rooms are ideal for events with 80-100 delegates and come with full high definition projection systems , complete with a 3 metre wide screen and two wall mounted 42 ” screens allowing those at the back of the room to see the main presentation . All supported by a speaker system linked to radio microphones . The Presentation Suite has an additional 80 ” wall mounted monitor for smaller meetings or events , and the Exhibition Space boasts a mezzanine terrace overlooking the reception area , ideal for serving refreshments .
Meeting rooms These meeting rooms comfortably seat up to 14 people with LCD dualtouch presentation monitors and stereo sound systems .
Board Room For a formal meeting , the Board Room is equipped with a high definition 80 ” touch screen for presentations and brain-storming using built-in software , as well as three 60 ” monitors for multiple displays .
The Room The Room is ideal for informal meetings and brainstorming , with its scribble-friendly , white glass walls , projector , and comfortable seating .
All audio and visual systems accept digital inputs from PC ’ s , Mac ’ s and tablets / smartphones . The Barco ClickShare system which allows several participants to wirelessly share content from their laptops and other mobile devices to HD screens is available in some meeting rooms .
Gateway to Innovation 3M BIC ’ s state-of-the-art Innovation Avenue houses revolutionary facilities and high performance computing systems for the manufacturing and engineering sectors . Equipment currently available includes :
• SyiL X7 Plus CNC Milling Machine – a 3-axis machine tool used for small scale manufacturing / prototyping and to test new measurement technologies being developed and / or evaluated by the research group .
• Alicona Infinite Focus – an optical 3D micro-coordinate system for measuring form and surface roughness of high precision components ( e . g . aero engine turbine blades ).
3M BIC 3D Visualisation and Modelling Suite
• Fisba Optik – a portable digital interferometer for surface measurement of flat and spherical surfaces , such as optical components ( lenses ).
• Taylor Hobson TalyMaster – a high precision inspection system combining roughness , roundness and contour measurement .
• EOS FORMIGA P 110 – a plastic laser-sintering system for the direct manufacture of limited series , spare parts and functional prototypes , allowing design and engineering to work closely together across many sectors including transport and healthcare .
• Acoustic Camera – an array of microphones used to locate the sources of sound and create an image superimposed on an optical image . The acquisition permits quick images to be taken live , or longer ‘ exposures ’ reveal more detail and allow postprocessing .
• Atomic Force Microscope ( AFM ) – a very high-resolution type of scanning probe microscopy used for imaging , measuring , and manipulating matter at the nanoscale . The information is gathered by “ feeling ” the surface with a mechanical probe .
• Brüker x-Ray fluorescence – offering the non-destructive elemental analysis of pigments and metals from engineering and healthcare as well as antique artefacts .
• The 3D Visualisation and Modelling Suite provides businesses with access to facilities for 3D visualisation and complex mathematical modelling for use in design and product development and managing large datasets .
The Centre also provides access to a vast range of measurement , scanning , analytical and other equipment , with expert staff from the University of Huddersfield .
Location The 3M Buckley Innovation Centre is situated in close proximity to the University of Huddersfield . It is ideally located near to the town ’ s bus and railway stations and its central UK location makes it easily accessible to the main motorway networks that link the North , South East and West .
