Conclusions and recommendations
Overall, it appears that using retrieval-based starter activities with 10C over a 5-week period has led to an attainment increase of 27 % and, therefore, by proxy, an improvement in retention of topic knowledge. This possibly suggests that retrieval techniques are of benefit to students in this context. It is, however, important to note this is a small-scale study over a short-time period.
