The whole exercise proved to be effective as evidenced in Q & A sessions conducted towards the end. Aiming to make our roads safe, the future citizens were set on right path in this journey at Sobha Academy.

IN THE QUEST FOR CHANGING LIVES
Dowryless Social Marriage being conducted for 20 girls
Sri Kurumba Educational and Charitable Trust, the CSR arm of Sobha Limited, organizes dowry-less social wedding for girls from less privileged families. Conducted twice in a year, the first leg of this program was held in May, 2016 at Thrissur in Kerala.
Observing the need to assist young girls from the two adopted panchayats in Palakkad district of Kerala, this humble initiative was started in the year 2003. These girls are given a comprehensive support by the Trust not only in terms of funds but also in giving free counselling at both pre & post marital stage. These benefits are extended to all the eligible girls after conducting a comprehensive social development survey.
The impact of about 510 social weddings conducted over the last 13 years has majorly influenced the villagers in eradicating the societal malaise of dowry. Every year, on an average 40 girls get married in two batches under this unique initiative.
