In the workplace , creating a safe and fair environment has become more crucial than ever . A recent International Labour Organization ( ILO ) report reveals that 22.8 % of people in employment have experienced harassment in the workplace , and for the majority the most recent incident took place within the last five years 4 . The negative effects of such environments contribute to broader issues , such as depression and anxiety , which cost the global economy $ 1 trillion annually in lost productivity 5 . Promoting ethical leadership is crucial to both preventing harassment and fostering mental well-being , enabling employees to thrive .
Finally , the rapid development and deployment of artificial intelligence ( AI ) presents both tremendous opportunities and challenges . AI investment is forecasted to approach $ 200 billion by 2025 6 , reflecting its potential to revolutionize industries . Indeed , the adoption of generative AI in enterprises is evolving rapidly ; from March to September 2023 , the percentage of companies using generative AI in piloting or production mode surged from 19 % to 55 % 7 . However , this rapid growth raises concerns regarding job displacement , bias in AI systems , and the potential widening of economic inequality . The adverse outcomes of AI are recognized as some of the greatest risks 8 we face over the next ten years , with 78 % of leaders expressing concerns about insufficient global collaboration to ensure the responsible development of AI-powered systems 9 .
B20 Task Force Recommendations : A Roadmap for the Future In response to these global trends , the B20 Integrity and Compliance Task Force has put forward three key recommendations for the G20 .
