Recruiters do not have any legal basis of using such
social media proļ¬les of their applicants and hence, the
privacy of job applicants post on any of the SNWs will
in a way be compromised. Also, attached will be a risk
of discrimination based on sexual orientation, race,
hometown, etc.
Hence, regulations will have to be put in place so that
the recruiters are under an obligation to access
applicant's personal data with their consent and not
share such data with any third party. Thus, as a
cautionary practice the applicants will have to be
careful to the type of information being revealed by
them on such platforms. Anything on the World Wide
Web is easily accessible and hence, all the potential job
seekers will have to be very careful of their image being
projected on these social media networks.
