Shubham Singhal NMiMS, Hyderabad Batch: 2012-2014 Adverse effects of today’s competitive world & dealing with them
Every organisation has people working in it and these can be referred to as the human resources i.e. HR. Managing them as a team so as to achieve the aim of the organisation is really an art and requires HR management skills. When people work in teams, each one dedicatedly works for the success of the project that they work on. In the organisations people from different backgrounds and cultures come together and thus the concepts and words like team dynamics, differences amongst members, leadership, team meetings and activities come into picture. People really need to understand, adjust, cooperate and work as a team keeping behind the team mate’s differences. To achieve this, the team leaders bring the people together, hear them out, solve their issues, reward them, and delegate the work as per the abilities of the employees through the team meetings and other group activities. It has been statistically proven that people learn best from their peers by experience, so people take and give help to their team mates and also discuss their issues. Also, every person has his own personal life and space, often which takes a backseat due to the priorities and demands of the competitive working environment. This thus results as stress in people. In their run for money, establishment and recognition people often forget the ultimate aim and responsibility i.e. peace and satisfaction. In all this people are losing out on the main thing and that’s happiness. Social meetings and networking for a large number of people is just limited to facebook, twitter and linkedin. Instead people should actually go out and meet humans, interact, understand and gel up and do networking.
To solve this out and to help the employees of an organisation, various researches have been done and the HR professional make use of these and conduct cultural events and workshops where people come together participate, share, learn and grow and most importantly they feel happy and thus increase the employee satisfaction. Apart from this an overall review system is also followed by many companies which helps to know what are the issues that are being faced by the employees and how these can be res-
olved. So, as per the surv
