International Trade and Sustainable Development By - Gitanjali Maria LIBA Chennai Batch 2011-13 Abstract Countries are interested in capturing increased share of international trade and so are companies interested in improving their export volumes. Often in this scurry to improve economic benefits to oneself, thoughts about sustainable development, environment, planet and people take a back seat. But ensuring trade practices are sustainable and beneficial to all stakeholders concerned, including the future generations, it becomes important that we review our practices and put in place greener, cleaner and people-friendly policies and practices.
