he would take me when I was 18, even though at the time he could have signed for me… I just couldn’t seem to wait, so I begged my friend who was an apprentice to tattoo me for like a week and he finally gave in. I ended up with the worst pink panther you’ve ever seen in your life on my back. It was covered up three times, then lasered about eight times, and about to be totally reworked again… Moral of the story, wait! What is it about tattoos that appeals to you? I like the artistic expression of tattoos. I like that you can have little pieces of your life, almost like a stamp in a passport… That to me is cool! Plus, it can make you very unique. How do you come up with the ideas for your pieces? Talk us through some of your tattoos and the reasons behind them. I travel a lot for work, I hate to be away from my kids! I have both of them tattooed on the inside of my arms, my favorite pictures of them at the age of four…so they are young forever, happy, and by my side always. I love pretty things that are slightly morbid. I have a decapitated jackalope, he is as cute as possible and dead, an arsenic inscribed teacup, and a fetal skull on my pelvis...because, why not? The beautifully odd theme happens a lot with me. What’s your most significant tattoo and why? Definitely the tattoos of my children are the most significant. Followed by my left arm covered in trinkets of my mother’s, and my right arm for my father. On which part of your skin would you never get a tattoo? I have certain areas I haven’t tattooed because it makes modeling, acting, and other professional ventures outside of the alternative market much easier for me. I will say I have tattooed some sensitive areas… I will typically sit through a piece for as long as it takes… My stomach sucked. It was the most painful and I felt sick the whole time. Do you have a favorite tattoo artist? Do you like to stick to one artist, or try a number of different ones? I respect so many artists.
