biscuits ’n’ gravy; a surprisingly
unique pancake; and not-your-average omelets make for a great way
to start a successful day.
Once the sun sets on the week,
the nourishment of the night
emerges. Some of these evening experiences you might never have even heard of, such as
“Night-Breakfast” and “Burger
Night.” (You’ll have to read up on
these and drool over them in a future article—there’s just too much
to say about these once-a-month
food affairs).
Now I must confess that one
of my favorite parts of this this
place is the bounty o’ baked
goods. Different almost every
day and served no matter what
time you stroll in, I swear they
must have meetings dedicated
to thinking up enticingly decadent treats to make me weak in
the knees. Visions of warm bread
pudding, perfectly sweet scones
and doughnuts you won’t regret
eating will dance in your head
once you’ve tried them. And the
flavor choices offered are absolutely original: ginger, green tea,
cereal-milk, Vietnamese coffee
and lime, just to name a few.
I asked about just how guilty
I should feel after having eaten
almost every flavor of scone offered and they actually shared
with me a bit of their secret-ingredient flavor witchcraft (bakecraft?). Unfortunately, I can't divulge the information to anyone
without a Level 4 Coffee Clearance without having to kill them,
but what I discovered is that each
of the secret ingredient choices is
representative of how the whole
operation works. Coffee, food
and atmosphere—each one is
unique, simple and comes with
no disguises. ■
