It’s the way Jesus taught his disciples. They grew in their understanding and awareness of God’s will as Jesus taught them while they ate together, prayed together, worshipped together, and served others together. Scripture tells us about the formation of the early church and the dual emphasis on learning and community. “They devoted themselves to the Apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship.” Acts 2:42 The importance of becoming life-long learners ... gathering, staying close to one another, supporting and encouraging each other ... was critically important for them to be the people God created them to be.
