Construction Dimension Control ( DC ): - The use of statistical techniques to monitor , control and continuously improve topside and hull design details and work methods so as to maximize productivity .
Construction Dimension Control Steps : -
1 . Commitment to Production Work Breakdown Structure ( PWBS ) 2 . Choice of construction for initiation of system 3 . Integration and informational meeting involving engineering , planning , production , quality assurance and control , welding engineers and line inspectors . 4 . Establishment of assembly and welding sequences by engineering based on input from planning and production . 5 . Establishment of initial ( estimated ) tolerance limits by engineering based on input from planning and production . 6 . Establishment of initial ( estimated ) excess standards by numerical control based on input from planning , production and engineering . 7 . Development of check sheets to identify checkpoints and dimensions for measurement by engineering based on input from planning and production . 8 . Collection of data on check sheets and review of assembly and welding sequences by production . 9 . Analysis of data and sequences by quality control group .
