Nonetheless, there is still a long way to go for Malaysia with regards to ELV policy. According to a study by the University of Malaya( UM), the Government should be ready to implement several key strategies in order to build a solid ELV structure in Malaysia, as shown in Figure 3. Among other things, Malaysia needs to realise an ELV recycling law, restructure the process of deregistration and destruction, promote remanufacturing activities, conduct comprehensive research and ensure all related agencies and local authorities are working in tandem. The National Blue Ocean Strategy( NBOS) might be one of the best platforms to realise a viable ELV policy in the country.
