When Malaysia launched the National Food Security Policy Action Plan 2021-2025 , the first core action plan among the five core actions plan is to expand the usage of technology in the agriculture industry . The focus in agriculture engineering is well defined as the specific action plan is to strengthen national food securities , taking into account issues and challenges along the food supply chain ranging from agricultural inputs to food waste . The National Food Security Policy ( DSMN Action Plan ) 2021-2025 covering five core strategies , 15 strategies and 96 initiatives will ensure the sustainability of the country ' s food supply at all times , especially in the face of unexpected situations .
The unveiling of a new hybrid high quality pineapple known as MS 16 developed by MARDI in January 2024 signified another milestone of agriculture R & D achievement which involves agriculture engineering . This new hybrid was the result of MARFI germplasm exchange in 1993 with Maroochy Horticultural Station in Nambour , Queensland , Australia .

3 . European Society of Agricultural Engineers ( EurAgEng ): Focus : Represents the interests of engineers and technologists in agricultural and biosystems engineering in Europe . Activities : Conferences , technical groups , and publications .
4 . Asian Association for Agricultural Engineering ( AAAE ): Focus : Enhances co-operation among agricultural engineers in Asia and the Pacific . Activities : Conferences , workshops , and collaborative projects .

1 . Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations ( FAO ): Focus : Leads international efforts to defeat hunger and improve agricultural productivity . Activities : Research , policy advice , technical assistance , and data collection .
2 . International Fund for Agricultural Development ( IFAD ): Focus : Provides financial support and development programmes to eradicate rural poverty and promote agricultural development . Activities : Funding projects , research , and partnerships .
