Figure 4 : Key indicators for scoliosis diagnosis
This device is a standalone product that can be used by orthopaedic surgeons , physiotherapist , chiropractors , TCM , and personal use for scoliosis patients . It comes as a ready to use device which doesn ’ t require any assembly . Its user-friendly mechanism makes it easy for everyone to use . With the current developments underway , Scoltech would soon be IoT enabled to wirelessly transmit data to the physician ’ s computer and quickly update the patient ’ s medical record . This will eliminate manual records and reduce workload .
Scoliosis affects all age groups — from kids with idiopathic scoliosis to the elderly with degenerative scoliosis . However , serious medical help is needed when it affects the growing young generation between the ages of 7-15 years . These patients need to be monitored regularly and a lot of examinations and data need to be taken into consideration to create a personalised treatment plan for each patient . With this non-invasive and highly efficient innovation , physicians can easily conduct physical examinations and monitor conditions before and after corrective surgery . This innovation provides the physicians an opportunity to extend their medical service to remote locations and to people with lower income at an affordable price range .
