Likewise , a partnership with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia ( UTM ) has extended the effort within the category of therapeutic equipment through the completion of a real-time system model tailored for haemodialysis machines and reverse osmosis ( RO ) systems in a Southern region hospital . This partnership highlighted the relevance and effect of a long-term industrialacademic strategic relationship in the field of contemporary maintenance in addition to developing an effective model .
Failures are predicted based on real-time information received from sensors which are transmitted via the IoT platform . The prediction models are trained and tested using historically labelled data with information on previous failures in the equipment . The amount of historical data can be huge , so real-time storage in the cloud is possibly an effective solution , giving rise to cloudbased PdM .
