with Industry 4.0 skillset . Beyond providing strong chemical engineering foundations , the ChE programme at XMUM incorporates elements of Industry 4.0 in selected ChE courses with the aim of significantly enhancing students ’ preparedness in facing new challenges and changing demands of the future . The elements included in these courses will enable students to explore chemical reaction processes at all scales , right from the
Molecular simulation is a powerful approach for the design of materials and the prediction of their behaviour and performance . Students are exposed to molecular simulation through the Multiscale Modelling and Simulation course and with use of the Materials Studio software . In essence , the Materials Studio is an integrated molecular modelling environment , which enables simulations on a variety of lengths and timescales such as electronic , atomistic , or mesoscale simulation . For instance , students are taught the prediction of reaction kinetics parameters using DMol 3 module , which calculates the electronic properties of a system using the density functional theory . Specifically ,
