as smoothly operate and maintain these plants according to international standards, while meeting local authority requirements. If the geothermal resource in Sabah is proven, SEDA will also embark on training in the various aspects of geothermal technology, to prepare engineers in Sabah to operate the geothermal plants. SEDA is also conducting a wind mapping study of the country. If the study shows a potential for power generation from wind, at least in some areas, wind will also be included in the FiT Schedule under the RE Act. At present, SEDA has conducted some initial workshops on wind technology. If wind is included under the FiT Schedule, more extensive training courses for wind technology will be designed and implemented. To conclude, SEDA will continue to identify gaps in human capacity in the RE sector, and develop suitable training to address the shortage. All training is developed in conjunction with Industry and academia, both local and foreign.
