As serious as it sounds , flange management is not rocket science , but if not handled with proper care in hazardous industries , disaster can happen .
CONCLUSION
Another area to be seriously considered in high-risk piping systems is the Leak Test , or Pressure Test , to check the integrity of the newly installed flange connection with a relatively safe test medium and controlled test pressure before actual usage . The logic behind this is the early detection of any failure at the flange joint connection , to prevent any incident from occurring . As serious as it sounds , flange management is not rocket science , but if not handled with proper care in hazardous industries , disaster can happen . As a general rule , all organisations in Malaysia need to be aware that the Employer is responsible for providing a safe and healthy working environment to their employees , per OSHA 1994 Section 15 .
