Chilled Water System
The chilled water system design is the most commonly used system for hospital applications as the system is able to provide constant space temperature . The system includes either air-cooled or water-cooled chillers , cooling towers , pumps ( for chilled water and condensed water ), air handling units ( AHU ), fan coil units ( FCU ), ducting , piping , wiring and associated auxiliary components .
However , a chilled water system which provides cooled water in the of range 5.6 ° C to 6.7 ° C , when supplied to an AHU has its limitation even with an oversize AHU coil . The best exit air temperature that can be achieved is on average 8 ° C to 10 ° C dew point . We still need to reduce the temperature of the air supply to 7.2 ° C dew point in order to remove a sufficient amount of moisture from the
