Dr Anne Swain is recognised as a leading expert in the field of food intolerance and food allergy, both in Australia and overseas. We sat down with Anne to chat about her career and how to identify and manage food chemical insensitivities. You’ve been the Head Dietitian in the Allergy Unit at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) for over 40 years. Where did you start your career? How did you end up working in immunology? I was always interested in science, food and cooking particularly at high school. I wanted to be a maths and cookery teacher but that was not possible under the school curriculum at that time. My love for science came from my father who was an industrial chemist.
