Mens sana in corpore sano
Many of us know the slogan "Healthy Mind
in a Healthy Body," but few are the ones who
materialize it, which is even trying to "translate"
it into everyday life, due to the rapid pace in
which we live.
We all know how important it is to maintain
an ideal balance between a healthy body and
a healthy mind. Fulfillment of
physical ne-
cessities, without the regular training of the
brain, gradually leads to
failures from all points of
view. We can speak of
various dysfunctions of
the body (liver, heart,
bone, etc.), but also
brain sedentarism, per-
haps the most serious
disease (the brain is the
supreme organ of man).
A keen and trained
mind requires increased
energy
consumption,
and in order to be stimu-
lated, the brain needs
not only logical games
or crosswords, but also
healthy food and regular physical movement.
To make the most of your intellectual, crea-
tive and emotional potential, you need to give
your brain the right combination of nutrients
and make sports a habit, no matter how you
choose to practice it (fitness, jogging, dancing,
swimming, tennis, etc.).
You should not forget any moisturizing, es-
sential in balancing the body and maintaining
energy, vital to the basic functions of the body
and for the proper functioning of the cells.
The brain is best fed through a constant
supply of glucose. That's why a great role in
maintaining intellectual performance has a
balanced breakfast, rich in fiber and protein.
Omega 3 fatty acids should not be absent from
your daily diet, the fish being a great source of
"good fat" for the brain, made up of 60% fat, or
fruits like blueberries, strawberries, apples,
cherries, grapes or oranges , recommended to
improve your brain performance.
For a healthy body, but also for an
adequate mind, it is good to follow every day
simple tips, but weigh heavily in balancing this
balance - between body and spirit:
-eat as many fruits and vegetables as possi-
ble;
-eat protein (especially
fish);
-consume at least 2l of
water daily;
- avoid bad fats;
-
avoid
carbonated
drinks;
- move as often as you
can;
- walk, breathe fresh air;
-enjoy nature, smell a
flower, admire a land-
scape;
-beware
of
pollution
(especially air);
-opt for a bicycle ride,
not a car ride.
In
conclusion,
for
a
harmonious
development at all levels, in order to achieve
that well-being, happiness, which we all want,
it is first and foremost important to feed the
brain and through it ourselves.
