Official property tax explanation as required by law

Passage of School District Question 1 extends an existing property tax referendum that is scheduled to expire .
Passage of School District Question 2 renews an existing capital projects referendum that is scheduled to expire .
Passage of School District Question 3 will result in an increase in your property taxes .
The passage of School District Question 3 is contingent upon the passage of School District Question 1 .
For School District Question 1 , the proposed authorization of $ 828.22 per pupil , subject to an annual increase at the rate of inflation , for taxes payable in 2023 is identical to the existing authorization for taxes payable in 2022 .
For School District Question 2 , the proposed authorization of 1.55 % times the net capacity of the School District for taxes payable in 2022 is identical to the existing authorization for taxes payable in 2021 .
For School District Question 3 , the projected annual dollar increases in 2023 for typical residential homesteads , apartments , commercialindustrial properties , and most other classes of property within the School District are as shown in table in this brochure , subject to an annual increase at the rate of inflation .
For agricultural property ( both homestead and non-homestead ), the taxes for School District Question 3 will be based on the value of the house , garage and one acre of land . There will be no referendum taxes paid on the value of agricultural land and buildings for School District Question 3 . For seasonal recreational residential property ( e . g ., cabins ), there will be no taxes paid for School District Question 3 .
All qualified electors residing in the School District may cast their ballots at the polling places shown in this brochure between the hours of 7:00 a . m . and 8:00 p . m . on election day .
A voter must be registered to be eligible to vote in this election . Any unregistered individual may register to vote at the polling places on election day .
