AL ILM PUBLISHING ‘al-ilm* is mentioned in more than 27 places in the Quran, al-kitab in 230 verses. These are a few of the many indications that knowledge is a central part of Islam as a way of life. It is implied that the attainment of ‘ilm, is obligatory upon all muslims, may it be the sciences of theology, philosophy, law, ethics, politics or any other wisdom imparted to mankind from God through the blessings of his last Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H). Al-Ilm Publishing aims to facilitate the tasks of those seeking knowledge by offering an easy and free of charge solution to scholars and ulemas to have their writings published in book form. The world has become a global village, therefore the reach of our islamic scholars should also extend beyond their local communities. The intention in creating Al-Ilm Publishing is to bring Islamic books where people look for them: online and from all around the world. *’ ilm is often translated to knowledge in English but it has a wider connotation that the western definition of knowledge. al-kitab is commonly translated to book.
