tesa ® launches new double-sided tape for visual communication in Brazil
tesa ®, strongly present in the flexography market , launches yet another novelty in the Brazilian market , but this time for the visual communication segment : transparent acrylic double-sided tape , complementing its broad portfolio of specialized double-sided tapes for this industry .
There are two versions with German technology , which can be distributed and customized in Brazil by the different tesa ® material converter partners in the country , which cut tape rolls to the size desired by industrial customers , for example , adapting tesa ® tapes to the application needs of each one .
The tapes have an easy-toremove liner , making them easy to apply . The application is suitable for bonding transparent or translucent materials , such as glass , acrylic and polycarbonate , ensuring a great look without leaving marks or damaging it . Tapes can be used on surfaces such as aluminum or steel for indoors or outdoors . Another highlight is that they resist high temperatures , up to 180 ° C , and have high power to follow the thermal elongation of the glued pieces , which prevents their detachment .
tesa ® acrylic double-sided tapes also serve professionals specialized in the fields of decoration and architecture . The tapes can be used in panels and decorative elements , furniture assembly , fair and event stands , commercial facades , signboards , visual communication materials , materials at points of sale , among others .
The models have a thickness option of 0.8mm and 1.0mm .
BASF develops label adhesives that do not interfere with paper and cardboard recycling
BASF has advanced in the development of adhesives that do not interfere with the recycling of shipping boxes , such as cardboard boxes with paper labels coated with Acronal RCF 3705 or Acronal RCF 3706 . Adhesives solve a fundamental problem for the recycling of paper and cardboard packaging . While most adhesives for paper labels interfere with the paper recycling process , newly developed adhesives are easy to remove early in the process , making it possible to reuse and print recycled paper or cardboard packaging without any major problems .
Both stickers have been certified by the " Papiertechnische Stiftung " ( PTS ) for this property . PTS is a German research and service institute that supports companies from all sectors in the development and application of modern fiber-based solutions . The institute carries out material testing for paper and cardboard packaging .
In addition to the automotive and food industries , logistics is another sector with high demand for pressuresensitive labels . For several years until today , shipping labels represent the fastest growing part of the market . This trend has been reinforced by the pandemic in 2020 and 2021 with the rapid growth of e-commerce and catalog sales , which currently account for nearly 15 % of label demand in Europe .
The solution confirms BASF ' s commitment to achieving a sustainable circular economy , as set out in the European Green Deal . By approving the Green Deal , the EU sets the goal of achieving climate neutrality in industry and society by 2050 .
Thomas Schiele , vice president of Adhesives , Fiber Gluing and Paper Coating Chemicals at BASF , points out that the constant growth in demand for packaging has made its recyclability a primary concern for the packaging industry . “ It is necessary to act , not only with regard to the packaging materials , but also the adhesives that are being used . Our innovative adhesive technologies open up completely new possibilities for a functioning circular economy , both in the packaging industry and in many other sectors ," he comments .
