and learned how their employees came in
to work wearing war paint in their struggle
against Delta Airlines. The passion of these
employees and their leaders inspired me.
I realized it was time to change the entire
security industry.
In 2012, we began making the huge
changes, which differentiated our company
from the competition. We started to do
everything backwards from how it was
traditionally done. We took the mind set of
“if it’s not broken then break it and put it back
together even better”. This meant cutting
through some of the bureaucracy that had
built up over the years. From a staff of 12
operations managers, 4 regional directors,
and a COO, we cut down to just 1 regional
director. In doing so I needed to give front
line management the same decision power
as previous managers had – something
unheard of in this industry.
