WARM MODERN,
MADE TO LAST
Some kitchens are designed around trends. Others are designed around the way people truly want to live. This Calgary renovation that came to life as a collaboration between ANDesign and Brighton Projects Inc. strikes a thoughtful balance between the two, blending elegant mid-century modern influences with timeless functionality that will feel just as relevant decades from now.
The original kitchen featured an awkward layout and an angled island that disrupted the natural flow of the space. In its place, the design team created a streamlined, highly functional kitchen grounded in warm walnut cabinetry, soft whites, and clean architectural lines. The result feels polished yet welcoming, with a calm simplicity that allows the craftsmanship to take centre stage.
One of the most striking elements is the intentional restraint throughout the space. Built-in hardware and hidden pull-outs minimize visual clutter, creating a sleek, uninterrupted look that feels refined without becoming cold. White countertops and textured backsplash tile brighten the room while allowing seasonal decor and personal accents to easily evolve over time.
