Founded by husband-and-wife team Chef Gyanendra Sharma and Tara Poudel, Aama, which means“ mother” in Nepali, was inspired by the comforting meals and warm gatherings that shaped their lives growing up. Today, that same spirit is reflected in every detail, from the welcoming atmosphere to the thoughtfully crafted menu.
For many guests, the journey begins with Aama’ s signature momos. These beloved Nepalese dumplings are prepared in several delicious variations, including the restaurant’ s famous Jhol Momo, served in a rich and flavourful house-made sauce. The Chilli Momo offers a bold, vibrant twist, while the Tandoori Momo delivers smoky, spice-forward flavours that have quickly become a customer favourite.
Another standout is the Chicken Chowmein, a comforting noodle dish that showcases the blend of Himalayan and Asian influences found throughout Nepalese cuisine. Packed with fresh vegetables, tender chicken, and savoury seasonings, it is both satisfying and approachable for newcomers to Nepalese food.
