Indonesian Lantern Magazine − 3
More than any other country in the modern
world, The United States is a nation of immigrants. The population of immigrants in
America grew considerably over the past 50
years. According to the Brookings Institution in 2013 over 40 millions foreign born
representing 13 % of the population resided
in the US. Or in other words: one in eight
Americans is an immigrant.

in the US began as early as mid 50s. As
of the 2010 US Census, we were the 15th

number of Indonesians arrived decades ago
in cities like New York City or San Francisco,

largest concentrations of Indonesian-born
immigrants anywhere in the U.S.
