Blogging With......

Andrew Reid Wildman

I began blogging last year, quite by chance really, like a toddler wondering what might happen when let loose with a new toy. I began writing about my birth town, Hull, quite nostalgic posts with photo-poems. I thought it might be a platform for my book of short stories, set in the town.

But I became hooked on blogging, fuelled with creative energy and the thrill of an audience, and I started adding more photographs for their own sake.

I became aware that I needed different blogs for different themes, and I created a blog for London photography, one for New York, one for my artwork, and one for suburbia. Suburbia fascinates me.

When I was a child, at the age of six, my parents moved from Yorkshire and suburbia, to Luxembourg. It felt alien and we were never to return to my Yorkshire home. I came back to suburbia over a decade later, as an alien, a poor student in a tatty bedsit.
