1) What first motivated you to be a writer?

A complex question. Fate, is the obvious answer.

When I had a knee operations following an unsuccessful judo throw in my youth, I had to sit back for a while and I used the time to start writing my first novel. (I had to do something creative!). My knee got better and for many years after, I was busy designing commercial buildings for a major architectural firm in Montreal.

Then the economy of Quebec (Canada) changed and our firm went under. This meant I could finally get back to writing. My last 20 years have resulted in some 30 books, both novels and non-fiction, plus lots of poetry, articles, and short stories.

Recently I began writing a blog that resulted, so far, in some 75,000 hits. My audience appears to be growing.

I write because it fills my need to be creative. When I stop, it is only to do some sculptures or indulge in a little travelling.

Lately, writing and promotion takes about 90% of my time and after a very vibrant social life in London, UK, I find that I prefer the solitude that writing affords.

I’m never lonely when alone!

2) Can you describe a typical day?

Checking my Internet connections, followed by breakfast. Then back to the computer. Promotions, articles, blogs, mail, Authors’ Den, Google, Amazon,Smashwords, sales, FB…..
