When or where did your interest in History begin?
Interesting question and I suppose the answer has to be that for me History has always been a part of me. I feel at times I am connected in some way to the past, always wanting to know where it is I come from and what the world and the people were like before me. At the age of seven, I was already working on my family history, tracing back the generations before me, questioning where I had come from.
For many years this interest in history has lain dormant within me and only on coming to Malta has it been reawakened driving my inquisitive nature even more, so much so that I have written three short books in a new History & Myth Series that will be coming out between now and Christmas. The series will focus on Ireland’s Ancient Gods, the mythical, legendary and historical Irish figures and the writers of the many ancient Irish texts that today provide us with countless sagas of ancient times. These were written by the famous Irish Monks of the Irish Celtic Church that flourished from the 5th to the 12th century.
Do you do many re-writes or does the composition flow as you write?
For me the composition flows and that I am grateful for. My mind is most often lines ahead of where my fingers are typing. Yes, I do get blocks of where to lead a story arc or in a development of a character, but my method is to leave it, and jump further down in the story and continue, allowing me to later come back and fill in the gaps. The story usually plays out in my mind visually.
