I’m Erin Hanson, I’m 19 (almost 20, ah!) and live in the gorgeous Queensland, Australia. There isn’t a particular moment that I can pinpoint when I started writing poetry, writing just seems like it’s something I’ve been doing forever. I grew up around an endless supply of books so I think it was just natural to want to create my own stories. When I was 11 we were given an assignment where we had to write a poem and that was the first time I ever really wrote one “seriously”. After that I just kept writing for myself and started my blog The Poetic Underground in November 2011 as a place to keep my writing and find other’s work.

My favourite thing to write would definitely have to be space/nature in general. I love the way that you can link almost any aspect of nature to a human emotion or trait. When you watch the world for long enough you find there’s answers everywhere just waiting to be found, and I think that’s truly magical. Since starting my blog life has just been a blur of constant writing and having the honor to watch my little blog grow into what it is today; I’m so grateful for the entire experience.
