I am 57 years old and have been writing poetry pretty much all of my life, although more prolifically over the last 3 years or so, with nearly 400 in my portfolio.
Throughout my life I have tended to write during difficult times, making my poetry deep and self-indulgent, but recently have freed myself from those constraints and have been able to write more freely on a variety of less depressing subjects.
I'm an avid fan of the classical poets, particularly favouring Keats, Edgar Alan Poe and William Blake.
I tend towards structured, rhyming poetry, which I know isn't in vogue at the moment, but dream of being at the forefront of its revival.
I've had a recent run of magazine work and dream of making it as a published poet, yes, I am a dreamer.
