From: How Guest Blogging Is Just Like Making a New Friend

By Taylon Chandler, Published November 25, 2013

Guest blogging appears to be becoming a hot new trend. If you need some advice or tips then this article is a good place to start. It includes the following on what you need:

--Someone reliable who shares your interests and communicates well.

--To build relationships with other bloggers in your industry, which can be more valuable than you realize.

--Browse the blogs or content-sharing sites you follow regularly.

--Your blogger needs to be a subject matter expert in his or her field.

--Understand the terms of the agreement. This includes when you need the article, when the article will be posted, how much leeway you have with edits and whether or not the blogger can share the post with other outlets.

--You also need to give blog-specific instructions, like keyword use, structure and links.

--Meet all the requirements from the blog manager. There’s nothing worse than receiving a guest post only to have to spend 45 minutes editing it.

I take that back. There is something worse.

--Turning in a post late. Guest blogging is all about building relationships. No matter how stellar your content is, you’ll be axed if you can’t meet a deadline. You don’t want to burn any bridges because a blog manager can’t rely on you.
