After the sequel to Kings and Queens, you are going to begin work on an historical novel, is there any other genre that you would like to try?

I don’t think of books in strict genre categories. I tend to write the book then work out its genre. Historical fiction is a big move because it requires a completely different approach, but my other novels are all mixes, really. There is a paranormal element in Round and Round, for instance, something I haven’t done before. Mostly, though, my books are relationship based.

Where is the space that you most like to write?

I always write in the same place, at my desk in the living room.

What was the first book that you loved and why?

I can’t remember! It was probably a Beatrix Potter book, or something similar. Do they still get read to small children? I think I liked the fox, but I can’t remember his name.
