Kushtrim Thaqi

Can you tell us about your life and what inspires you to write poetry?

I am Kushtrim Thaqi, age 24, born and raised in Prizren, Kosovo. I like to spend my time among people, especially among creative people, who happen to be my biggest engine towards self-development.

And as for my inspiration, well, I think that this world is way too beautiful to not be able to write about it, and way too cruel to not be able to write about it. So I can easily say that this world is the cause of my inspiration, this world and everything that's on it, especially humans.

How do you develop your poetry, do you do many re-writes?

Well, it usually starts with a line that gets stuck on my head, and I can't get it out unless I write about it. This process can last for hours, days, weeks and sometimes even months, but no matter what I do, I somehow "need" to write about it, otherwise I'll be tortured by it forever
