IGE: Tells us about yourself, who is Pierre?

My name is Pierre Benjamin, I was in Born in france and I started to draw at the age of 10

influenced by my grand father Gerard Calvet ( who is still alive and active being 90 years old, check him out here, http://gerardcalvet.fr/) also not having a TV at home was the best thing that happened to me as it meant there was nothing to distract me, and I always had plenty of time

to doodle and collect art from my favorite street artists.

Then I did a year in the school of the Musée du Louvre in Paris in 1999 studying antiquities which was

great to understand the origins of European Artistic trends that followed up until the 1900`s.

IGE: When did you find out you wanted to do concept and 3d art?

Having relocated from France to UK, I got to my thirties after a career in management in the wine

industry and I knew it was the right time to switch back to Art and I discovered Zbrush looking

through some magazines and I knew instantly that was what I wanted to do. I got onto a BA Game

Art course in Cardiff, South Wales. Over there I learned a lot about the whole CG pipelined and techniques of modeling texturing, rigging animating lifting and rendering .

I loved it and just focused on it 24/7. Then I followed up by a Masters for which I'm doing a graphic

novel on a noir style story I developed. It will be ready and released in September 2014.

After that I`m starting a Doctorate in Fine Arts in January in the university of Hertfordshire where I will be developing some hyper realistic sculptures.
