First published in 1939, thirteenth in 1963; a book in which the content matter is hardly altered by time. Written by Prof. Medsger after thirty years of experience and study. A careful and interesting work of about 600 available wild American plants as herbal food. Herbalists know that herbs alone are not the answer; proper food and harmonious conditions are also as important. From the new books we cannot point to anything as adequate; mostly old material deluded generously with stories and fine pleasure reading. Eighty excellent pen and ink drawings in the old, gracious gravure style with nineteen photographs artistically presented. The book is presented to revive public awareness of wild plant life.
