His one and only book, first published in 1888 while in his sixties, after forty years of experience, has kept a firm hold in international health literature. Our on-hand edition, 1956, is translated from the sixty-second German edition with 100 illustrations and a portrait of the Father. Our German edition is from 626 – 635 thousand. Russian and Polish editions are very brief, but popular in their own countries. Kneipp’ s work can be obtained from libraries and department stores anywhere and is always one of the popular sellers. It is difficult to estimate either the number of translations made of this work or the total sales. Father Kneipp used and highly recommended more than 100 herbs, many of them familiar Indian Herbs adopted in Europe. All practitioners and students know, or have heard of, his methods.
